Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Fans of the hit anime series Jujutsu Kaisen were excited to hear the news of the show's second season at the Jump Festa '23 event on Saturday. The highly anticipated season is set to debut on July 2023 and will air on MBS and TBS as well as 28 affiliated channels. According to the announcement, the second season will air for two cours, or quarters of a year, for a continuous half-year run.

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will adapt both the "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu" arc and the "Shibuya Incident" arc from the manga series, which was created by Gege Akutami and published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. Viz Media has published the manga in English, and it is also available on Shueisha's digital platform, MANGA Plus.

For those unfamiliar with the show, Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a teenager with immense physical strength who is drawn into the world of the occult when he joins his school's Occult Research Club. The club comes across a sealed cursed object that unleashes terror when they break the seal. The show premiered in October 2020 and had a total of 24 episodes, which were streamed on Crunchyroll outside of Asia and dubbed in several languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.

In addition to the second season of the anime, Jujutsu Kaisen fans can also look forward to the release of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film, which opened in Japan in December 2021 and was released with English subtitles and an English dub in the U.S. and Canada on March 18. The film is based on the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō (Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School) manga prequel story.
